The Original Checkmate Chess Set and it's table were created on a massive scale. The pieces are extremely detailed, and average 6.5" tall and weigh an average of 28 ounces each. The links above will allow you to see photos and the details regarding the pieces. A new set of these large pieces are available upon special order, please inquire. The tables, which are no longer made, were finished in Cherry, Ebony, and Shaker style, measuring 42" x 48" x 14.5". The surfaces, a 28" x 28" grid of matched marble (each 3 1/2" square), polished with beveled edges, and set within a frame of polished brass. |
